Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a monthly plan at any time. You also have a 14 day right to cancel a new purchase and get a refund, with one deduction explained below.
1. Cancelling a monthly plan
- Monthly plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time. After you cancel, the plan runs to the end of the month you have already paid for and then stops. We will not charge you again.
- To cancel, use the manage subscription link in your payment receipt email, or email info@digshare.co.uk from the address on your account. We will confirm your cancellation by email.
- Cancel before the next renewal date to avoid the next payment. We do not refund a month that has already renewed, except as set out below or where the law requires it.
2. Your 14 day right to cancel
If you buy a plan online as a consumer, you have 14 days from the day you buy it to cancel and ask for your money back, without giving a reason. This right comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- When you buy a plan we start it straight away, because that is how you can use it. At checkout you ask us to start it within the 14 days.
- If you cancel within the 14 days, we refund what you paid less an amount for the service you have already used, calculated in proportion to the time the plan has been active compared with the full length of the plan. If you have not used it, you get a full refund.
- For a founding lifetime plan the same 14 day right applies. If you cancel within 14 days, we deduct a proportionate amount for the days it has been active, treating the plan as lasting 12 months for the purpose of that calculation.
- To cancel within the 14 days, email info@digshare.co.uk with your name, the email on your account and the date you bought. You do not need to use any set form. Do this within the 14 days.
If you are buying as a business and not as a consumer, the 14 day right does not apply.
3. How and when you are refunded
If you are due a refund we will pay it within 14 days of agreeing to it, to the card you paid with. We do not charge a fee for refunds.
4. If something is wrong with the service
Digital services must be provided with reasonable care and skill and be as described. If Digshare is not working as it should, tell us at info@digshare.co.uk and we will put it right. If we cannot, you may be entitled to a price reduction or a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
5. Other cases
- If your account is closed because you broke our rules, we do not refund an unused plan, except where the law requires it.
- If we close Digshare permanently, we will refund any monthly plan for the unused part of the period you paid for. Founding lifetime plans are covered by the notice in our terms.
- Money you pay a host for rent or a deposit is not paid to us and we cannot refund it. See paying a host safely.
